Sugger Tank Water Bottle

Sugger Tank Water bottle is a hypothetical idea for now and exist only in this literature, so, it could not be broken down and weighed accurately. Concept was based on an existing design and developed. Materials and the design of the bottle were changed. Based on the density of the material and the expected surface area, the approximate figures of the weight of each of its component were predicted. The details were fed in the SimaPro Software to build anassembly. The processes, like the manufacturing process (Blow Molding Bottles 1), transport (Delivery Van (<3.5t) B250), waste disposal scenario (Recycling only B250 avoided), were also fed in and the life cycle of the subject product was obtained. Since the manufacturing plant was presumed to be set up in UK aiming for the reduction in the environmental impact due to the product’s transportation, Air Intercontinental transport was no more applied. The road transport figure (tkm) was calculated.

Following this, the calculation setup was run and above displayed images were obtained.

Peeking deep into the resultant network, it was observed that the majority of the energy is used in the assembly and the transport of the product, but with a clear-cut improvement in that is used for the transportation. This passed the first test and gave a green signal for the design to be carried forward.

The two images are characterization and normalization graphs respectively of the impact on the environment that the product’s LCA would cause. Carbon emissions (0.111kg CO2 eq.) almost disappeared from the graph. The marine life eco-toxicity (43.6kg 1,4-DB eq.) did not show very satisfying results, but the abiotic depletion category (7.6 x 10-4 kg Sb eq.) showed a considerable improvement.

Conclusion-

  • New Design- aesthetic looks and better grip of the product enhances the customer satisfaction levels.
  • Adding the bottom cap- there is ease in cleaning and washing the product, so it is a user-friendlier product.
  • LDPE- known for its flexibility properties, it is easier to squeeze the bottle the drink liquids more efficiently. Also, there’s about 9.25% of product cost to be expected.
  • Environmental Impact- based on the improvement and its types and intensity, the product suits to be a sports-water bottle designed with an intention to serve the humans.

Judging from the changes and improvement of the quality of the product, it should persuade more customers to buy it and use it. Due to the selling potential it has, shareholders and the company are likely to have tremendous profits.

It is green product; it’s a profit for earth and nature as well!
